It’s all in the ceiling

As an interior architect, I love how spaces represent true blank canvases to work with. They offer those bold and creative enough to see their potential an endless realm of possibilities for exploration and expression.

Sadly, I feel ceilings are often forgotten or under-used as part of these 360 degree canvases. And this is even more true in physical retail environments. How often de we see dark painted technical ceilings with track lighting and the odd feature pendant?

This is why I LOVE seeing concepts such as this one of Blue Table Chocolates by Arch & Type architects, where the ceiling is the main design feature!

And even more so when like here it contributes to the storytelling! Such a beautiful example of what is possible in retail design when the creative team thinks outside the box and uses the entire scope of the canvas at hand!

What are YOUR thoughts? I always love to hear from other retail and design enthusiasts so please get in touch to discuss.
